Workshop Porto DIGITAL 3D HERITAGE. Exploring 3D- Modelling in Education, Documentation and Dissemination

International Workshop on DIGITAL 3D HERITAGE. Exploring 3D- Modelling in Education, Documentation and Dissemination, Learning, teaching and training activities: COVHER, Porto Meeting, 4 -11 September 2024

As part of the event, the CoVHer Multiplier Event was hosted at the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto (FAUP), providing a platform for discussions on the role of 3D modeling in education, documentation, and dissemination of cultural heritage.

The workshop brought together students from partner universities in Barcelona, Bologna, Porto, Warsaw, and Mainz for an intensive week of collaborative work. Participants developed and presented projects exploring digital visualization techniques, contributing to the broader CoVHer research initiative.

The event also featured guest speakers from leading institutions in the field of digital heritage, who provided insights into the latest advancements in 3D reconstruction, interactive applications, and cultural education.

In addition to the presentations, an exhibition of student projects was held at FAUP, allowing participants and visitors to engage with the innovative work produced during the workshop.

The third workshop replicated the activities developed in the second workshop, introducing some modifications to update the knowledge produced by the CoVHer project.

In particular, a blended workshop was designed, consisting of two main activities. In the first phase, which took place in July and August 2024, participating students were required to complete the trial version of the MOOC, published online with exclusive access for Porto workshop participants. Students had to obtain the MOOC completion certificate to be eligible for in-person participation. The second part of the workshop took place in person in Porto from September 4 to 11, 2024.
